I am a painter and artist born (1997) in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, UK. I’m currently based in Northamptonshire.
My work conveys the raw energy of a subject through unblended acrylic mark making. I try to escape surface realism through expressive colour, shape and light.
Since I was very young I’ve always loved to draw, figures in particular. I studied art through A-Levels, Foundation studies and then at University where I was mainly experimenting with mixed media, sculpture and film.
Painting was (unjustly) on the back burner and had not come into my full focus up until the last 3 years where I’ve found solace in covering MDF boards in a layer of white gesso and proceeding to douse the whole thing in vibrant colour. I think in one way, I was scared of painting – or scared of ‘doing it wrong’.
It was waiting for me. I took a leap and submitted a painting I’d done depicting a body of water in Northern coastal Germany to Sky Arts LAOTY in 2025 and was selected as a wildcard. This was an affirming experience for my practice and style.
